Chief Integrity and Assurance Officer

Suhailah Mohamed Abdulla, 50, a Malaysian, was appointed as the Chief Integrity & Assurance Officer of Sime Darby Plantation Berhad (SDP) on 1 March 2021. In her current role, she is responsible for overseeing SDP Group’s integrity, governance and assurance function in assisting the Governance & Audit Committee to obtain reasonable assurance on the effectiveness of the Group’s internal control system, as well as its compliance, fraud & corruption risk management activities.

Suhailah began her career with the external audit practice of KPMG in 1995 and subsequently served in the internal audit unit of Astro Malaysia. She thereafter re-joined KPMG in 2005 where she led internal audit, risk management and advisory engagements for organisations involved in a variety of industries such as financial services, infrastructure, government & healthcare, information, communication & entertainment as well as consumer and industrial markets. Upon leaving KPMG in 2012, she headed the internal audit and risk management units of F&N Holdings Berhad and Themed Attractions Resorts & Hotels Berhad and subsequently joined SDP as Head, Group Compliance in 2018.

Suhailah is a Certified Fraud Examiner, a Certified Integrity Officer, a Certified Internal Auditor by the Global Institute of Internal Auditors, and holds a Certification in Control Self-Assessment conferred by the same Institute. She is a member of the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Malaysian Institute of Accountants and a Chartered Member of the Institute of Internal Auditors, Malaysia in which she served as a member of its Board of Governors from 2014-2018. She holds a Bachelor of Accounting (Hons) degree from the University of Lancaster, United Kingdom.
