Azrin Nashiha Abdul Aziz, 50, a Malaysian, is the Group Secretary of Sime Darby Plantation Berhad (SDP). She leads the corporate secretarial functions of the SDP Group as well as advises the Board and Management on corporate secretarial & corporate governance related matters.
She began her career with the Group Secretarial Department of Malayan Banking Berhad in 1996 before joining Affin Investment Bank Berhad in 1999.
Azrin joined the Group in February 2002 and was appointed Company Secretary/Head of Legal in October 2004. After the merger of Sime Darby Berhad, Golden Hope Plantations Berhad and Kumpulan Guthrie Berhad in November 2007, she was designated as the Head of Legal and Corporate Secretarial of SDP. She led the Corporate Secretarial Department following the re-organisation of the Department in June 2014.
Azrin holds an LLB (Hons) from the University of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, United Kingdom and a Certificate in Legal Practice from the Legal Profession Qualifying Board, Malaysia. She also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Management from the University of Technology Malaysia. She is a licensed company secretary and an affiliate of the Malaysian Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators.
